The Snowmaking Technician supports the production and upkeep of on-hill snow operations. This role requires an active individual who is capable of working in a challenging outdoor mountain environment. Responsibilities include slope preparation and repair, equipment management, and contributing to the strategic planning of snowmaking operations. This role emphasizes efficient, timely production to ensure high-quality snow and well-maintained slopes for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain snowmaking equipment to ensure optimal snow production
- Perform regular maintenance and repair on snowmaking and slope equipment
- Assist with slope preparation and repair, ensuring safe and smooth surfaces for skiing and snowboarding
- Support compressor operations and other machinery integral to snowmaking
- Contribute to the strategic planning of snow production based on weather and mountain conditions
Requirements or Qualifications:
- Able to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic understanding of business principles and efficient organizational skills
- Must promote a drug-free workplace; subject to drug screening and/or background check
- Capable of navigating varied terrain and working in demanding winter weather conditions
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds
- Exert force by pushing and pulling items
- Reliable transportation required with the ability to navigate snowy or winter conditions
